February 4, 2010  SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE VOTES TODAY ON NEW TAXES ON SOFTWARE IN COLORADO

Many thanks to the members of our community who are testifying before the Senate Finance Committee this afternoon to encourage senators to vote no on HB 1192, and to all of you who have been supporting us with your articles, comments, phone calls, tweets and other posts stressing the devastating impact that this new software tax will have on Colorado's economy.

Though we have had encouraging discussions with the Governor's Office, Department of Revenue and Senator Heath earlier this week, and look forward to seeing amendments or a Legislative Declaration, we are still very concerned with the full impact of HB1192, so we ask you to continue contacting your Senators to let them know that imposing difficult and confusing regulations on the software industry will have multiple unintended consequences.
