Silicon Flatirons Names New Executive Director
After an extensive search, it is with great enthusiasm that we announce Amie Stepanovich will be the next Executive Director of Silicon Flatirons. Amie is a nationally renowned cybersecurity and privacy law and policy expert. With this background and at the helm of the center, Amie will build upon Silicon Flatirons’ long-standing commitment to intellectually honest technology policy debate through interdisciplinary conferences, programming, and thought leadership.
Amie is a frequent speaker and author on matters involving government surveillance, human rights, and privacy law. She joins us from Access Now, where she has served as U.S. Policy Manager and Global Policy Counsel, responsible for developing the organization’s U.S. policy and leading global projects at the intersection of human rights and government surveillance. Prior to this, Amie was the Director of the Domestic Surveillance Project at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. Amie is a board member of the Internet Education Foundation and an advisory board member for the Future of Privacy Forum. Amie has a B.S. from Florida State University and a J.D. from New York Law School.

James Anaya upon naming Amie to the position. “Amie brings unique experiences in policy, human rights, and government surveillance, and I am excited to see what she will accomplish as executive director.”
In this role, Amie will serve as a thought leader for the center, lead our fundraising and external relations efforts, support our academic and research programs, oversee our day-to-day programmatic and administrative functions, and mentor and support students aspiring to work in the area of technology law. Amie will assume duties July 29, 2019.
