• PMI Mile Hi Symposium Announces Patty Azzarello and Scott Welle As Keynote Speakers for 25th Annual Celebration, Friday, April 14, 2023

Denver, CO-—Patty Azzarello, internationally renowned author, speaker and business advisor, and Scott Welle, best selling author and founder of Outperform the Norm, will keynote the 25th Anniversary Rocky Mountain Project Management Symposium, from PMI Mile Hi, Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver.  (

Azzarello became the youngest general manager at HP at the age of 33. She ran a $1 billion software business at the age of 35 and became a CEO for the first time at the age of 38 as she notes “without turning into a self-centered, miserable jerk”. (

She is the author of two books, RISE: 3 Practical Steps for Advancing Your Career, Standing Out As a Leader AND Liking Your Life and MOVE: How Decisive Leaders Execute Strategy Despite Obstacles, Setbacks and Stalls.

Welle was a lackluster student academically and painfully shy while growing up. His place to shine became sport.

Today, as a motivational professional, he has worked with professional athletes (NFL, MLB, PGA Tour), elite level triathletes, CEOs, stay-at-home moms, and everyday heroes who all had the common goal to improve and to be better today than they were yesterday. (

His nine bestselling books, articles, videos, podcasts and online programs inspire hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Welle enjoys pushing his own physical and mental limits, completing five Ironman triathlons, 30 marathons and a 100-mile ultramarathon run.

He has a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology and is an adjunct professor at St. Olaf University. Additionally, he frequently speaks and consults with top performing executives, sales professionals and entrepreneurs, as well as elite athletes, all with the common goal to outperform their previous levels.

Welle was named 2021 Midwest Motivational Speaker of the Year. Fox 9 in Minneapolis-St Paul has called him a “Motivational Expert.”

The full day conference is the largest annual gathering of the project leadership community in the Rocky Mountain Region, attracting more than 1,000 practitioners.

Workshops and breakout sessions will be held throughout the day, with Happy Hour at the end.

The event is all in person, with a focus on face-to face-networking and expanded time for connecting with colleagues and sponsors.  Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 18 Professional Development Units (PDUs) by accessing recorded sessions after event day.
