  • This is What a Developer Looks Like

On Thursday, January 31st Sonja, along with her fellow cohort, presented her final project at the Galvanize Web Development Immersive Capstone Showcase. Her app Vecinos (translated means neighbors) focused on cultivating communities through supporting locally owned small businesses. Through the app locally owned businesses can be filtered by: community - women, LGBTQ, or POC (people of color) owned businesses; neighborhood - generating a different area each time; or category - food, apparel and miscellaneous items. The goal of the app is to allow the user to learn more about their city and community while giving locally owned businesses extra exposure. Watch Sonja’s Capstone Presentation here.

CTA is so excited to see another woman enter the technology field and cannot wait to see what contributions Sonja will add to our Colorado tech community!

If you have a open web developer position and would like to contact Sonja please reach out to Jade Marquez, jade@coloradotechnology.org, and we will gladly make the introduction.
