Angi Homeservices offers Congress help to distribute financial aid to small businesses
Angi Homeservices Inc. (Nasdaq: ANGI) has submitted a proposal to the U.S. Congress, which would help enable the federal government to provide financial aid directly to the more than 250,000 small businesses that are part of Angi’s network, by utilizing the company's platform to disperse funds.
As part of the plan, the company is requesting that lawmakers deem home service professionals — plumbers, electricians, HVAC repairman, etc. — essential workers. The company is in discussions with lawmakers to make that happen.
The Denver-based company also said in a letter addressed to congressional leaders that it will make its infrastructure available to facilitate the distribution of financial support to those small business professionals.
